LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR - ASSOCIATE

E-RYT-500

SUPERVISED BY: LYDIA KASMOCH, LPC-S, REGISTERED PLAY THERAPIST-SUPERVISOR

Hello & a warm welcome!

Life can be challenging and the process of finding a therapist who resonates with you and helps you feel at ease is a vital aspect of moving through those challenges. I appreciate your interest in me and our team at Thrive and hope we can make that process a bit easier.

In my own life experiences, I have explored the connection of the mind, body and spirit on the path toward wholeness and hope. As a mother, I have gathered practical wisdom about issues women face throughout life as well as the challenges of raising children, marriage and family life. As a longtime yoga and wellness professional (ERYT 500), I have gained in-depth understanding about somatic and mindfulness practices which positively contribute to our holistic health and wellbeing. As a person who has experienced trauma and loss, I have come to understand the need for self-care and insightful therapeutic care.

Bringing these parts of my life together, I decided to pursue a new direction in mid-life and completed a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Messiah University in Pennsylvania, a CACREP-accredited program. My journey through the traumatic loss of my son stirred me to focus my studies on the impact of trauma and effective treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I have completed trainings in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and advanced trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness techniques through Canmore Counseling’s Trauma-informed Yoga Psychology School.

Throughout my graduate program, I also completed grief counseling trainings and received mentoring from experts in that field.  In addition to supporting individuals and couples working through issues such as anxiety and depression, I have experience counseling clients coping with the effects of various types of trauma, including childhood, sexual, interpersonal and religious trauma. I am passionate about a multicultural and inclusive approach in my work and highly value my client’s perspective based on their own unique identity. I believe that each person is valuable and intricate, a universe within themselves.

My purpose as a therapist is to walk alongside, helping you to discover your way forward and emerge on a path toward your own sense of hope and wholeness. If this resonates with you, I look forward to connecting with you and beginning this new journey together.

Sincerely,

Lisa
