SUPERVISED BY: SARAH SWAFFORD, LPC-S, REGISTERED PLAY THERAPIST
Thank you for stopping by here and getting to know a little bit about me.
I did my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of
Professional Psychology which is a CACREP Accredited university in Chicago. I
recently moved to El Paso from Chicago and have since started my journey here.
Mental health counseling wasn’t my first profession but I am one of those who can say I
had a second chance to choose and I chose the path that is congruent with who I am as a
Mental health counseling and therapy can be scary and confusing but also liberating and
empowering. This is one outlook that I use with my clients. I use a variety of different
approaches that cater to different individuals based on their needs at the time to assist
them in learning about themselves, unlearning unwanted beliefs and behaviors and then
relearning new things based on the knowledge and insight acquired during the process of
therapy. I believe in a supportive, empowering and collaborative therapeutic process.
I have experience working with conditions like anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and
several types of trauma that include childhood trauma, sexual abuse and trauma, domestic
violence. I work with individuals, couples and families. I am fluent in English and three
South Asian languages namely Gujarati, Hindi and Marathi.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. I am happy to provide any more
information you may need to help you make an informed decision about starting this
journey with me.
